The Treasures Story

Our journey started in a garage in 1981, right here in Castle Rock. In fact, our food pantry is named after the amazing lady who started it all, “Mela’s Pantry.” Additionally, we are honored to have one of the original volunteers still with us today!

When you choose to donate your gently used clothing and household items, or shop at Treasures Thrifti, you are directly supporting Help & Hope Center’s many programs that meet the needs of financially fragile families and individuals in our community!

Our center’s dedicated client advocates provide a comfortable and private space to meet and discuss our clients’ individual needs. Treasures Thrift exists to support those needs by using the proceeds from our thrift store sales to support our counties individuals and families with food, clothing, household goods, rent, and utility assistance.Through the continued support of our generous donors, savvy thrift shoppers, and dedicated volunteers, Help & Hope Center’s mission of assisting Douglas and Elbert County residents through their time of need is made possible.

A Note from our Store Manager

My name is Carlotta, and I have the privilege of managing the Treasures Thriftique store, which supports the mission of Help and Hope Center. For those that may not know, the entire agency is supported by an army of passionate volunteers forming the bedrock upon which Help and Hope is built–and we are always looking for new volunteers by the way!

There are a few things that excite me about coming to work every day. I have the honor of leading an enthusiastic team of men and women who love to serve our customers and our community. I get to participate in curating the merchandise inside one of the best kept secrets in Castle Rock – Treasures Thriftique, making it feel like a boutique for our shoppers.

 Whether you are looking for an amazing selection of books, CDs/DVDs/records, antiques, toys, household goods, clothing, seasonal items, and much more, we have it all! Every item is inspected by our team, and only the best quality items make it to the floor. It is not uncommon for new customers to walk around saying, “Wow, I never even knew this place existed!”

Lastly, I get to witness first hand the incredible ways in which the proceeds from our sales, get funneled right back into the community in which I live and work. I love this place, and I think you will too! I look forward to seeing all of you soon, new friends and customers, as well as our long time supporters. We couldn’t do it without you!
